More than a decade ago, I got involved with Make-A-Wish as a volunteer. My dad was a Wish Granter at the time, and every now and then I would go along with him as he went above and beyond his volunteer duties and simply spend time with his Wish Kids who were sometimes losing their fight. Thus, I too volunteered my time with Make-A-Wish. So it is only fitting that I again team up with my dad!
Many of you know my work through Ventura County Credit Union (VCCU), and I wouldn't be doing this without them as well! Representing VCCU (this may include a crazy outfit), I am raising funds and awareness for Make-A-Wish® Tri-Counties on August 4 & 5, 2017, to go Over The Edge - literally! Over The Edge challenges you to face your fears, catch your breath, step up to the edge and rappel down the side of the National University building in Oxnard. The first 95 fundraisers to raise a minimum of $1,000 will earn a spot to go Over The Edge.
More than 120 children in the tri-counties are diagnosed each year with a life-threatening medical condition. Last year, Make-A-Wish® Tri-Counties granted over 90 wishes for local children. You can help Make-A-Wish® reach more of these children and create hope, strength and joy in their lives. Money raised by rappellers goes towards granting these wishes.
I hope you can help me reach my goal and help make a difference in the lives of children who need it most!
